Sinfin Community Centre would like to invite each and every community or voluntary sector group and organisation operating in the Sinfin Ward to become ‘members’ of the Sinfin Community Exchange – SCX.

The SCX is aimed at improving the way community and voluntary sector groups and organisations both communicate with each other and work together in the area.  There are also some great benefits for SCX Members!

SCX members will be encouraged to send a representative(s) to 4 Network Meetings a year held at the Sinfin Community Centre.  These meetings will be an opportunity for Members to benefit from;

  • Networking and meeting other like-minded groups operating in the area
  • Exchanging ideas and information with other Members
  • Keeping up to date with key issues affecting the local area
  • Working together on joint projects and sharing each other’s resources
  • Finding out about funding opportunities including joint funding applications.

The SCX will also be a great first contact point for organisations, businesses and residents who want to find out what activities and services are available in Sinfin.

Plus SCX members will also get FREE use of 3 new Community Spaces at Sinfin Community Centre;

  • Community Space #1 – A Community Hot Desk Office, equipped with IT and stationery and ideal for members wanting space to complete admin tasks, have 1-2-1’s or smaller informal group or committee meetings or host community advice surgeries or drop in sessions.
  • Community Space #2 – A Community Meeting/Training Room, equipped with training resources and stationery, ideal for larger more formal group or committee meetings, training sessions and workshops, or if you just need some just extra space to spread out if working on your project!
  • Community Space #3 – The Conservatory, a bright and light space equipped with café style furniture which opens onto a small garden area, ideal for larger informal group or committee meetings, arts and crafts activities, hosting coffee mornings or table tops sales, a really flexible and exciting community space.

In addition SCX Members also get to advertise their services and feature their work for FREE in the Sinfin Community Centre newsletter produced 4 times a year and distributed to over 3000 homes in the area, and additional marketing opportunities through social media and local media.

And finally, for qualifying SCX members there is the Sinfin Community Centre’s ‘Community Chest Fund’, which has been established to support small grass roots groups, including those which are not constituted in purchasing equipment or materials to support their projects.

So there really are many benefits to becoming a member of the Sinfin Community Exchange, and it’s FREE to join!  Membership is open to each and every community and voluntary sector group and organisation working in Sinfin, including;

  • Residents Associations & Committees
  • Non for Profit & Charitable Organisations
  • Community Support & Welfare Groups
  • Sports Clubs & Associations
  • Scouting/Guide Groups

Next steps….

Simply complete the Membership Application Form attached, and return it to Sinfin Community Centre, it’s that easy.  We will then enter your details onto the SCX Network, and send you details of the next Network Meeting.  You will also be invited to discuss how the SCX can work for you, including the FREE Community Spaces and marketing opportunities.
